The German Government has provided a grant under the International Climate Initiative (IKI) to ICLEI and partners for the “Blue-Green Development in Kiribati” project. ICLEI will partner with the Commonwealth Local Government Forum (CLGF) and the Kiribati Local Government Association (KiLGA) to  manage this initiative, focusing on sustainable community-based development for climate and pandemic resilience.

The first major mission to Kiribati will be held in early 2023 and will engage with 10 local communities, two local governments and national government officials to establish the baseline for the 3-year project.
